School Secretaries Reveal Secrets of the School Purchasing Process
New research answers questions about how and when purchases are decided.
School secretaries are at the heart of the school purchasing process. They distribute catalogs and third class mail to administrators and teachers and they process purchase requisitions for the educators in their schools. They know who the buyers are, how much they spend, and how and when they go about their purchases.
This new survey targets the purchasing process. Among the questions answered are:
What is the anticipated spending level for the current school year (2008-09)?
Which teachers are most likely to purchase supplemental materials?
When will the school begin to make purchase decisions?
When is the best time to receive catalogs and direct mail?
How are catalogs and direct mail promotions distributed?
What happens to mail addressed by title?
What happens to mail addressed to teachers who are no longer present?
Over 30 questions in all are included in this survey and many are tabulated separately for elementary vs middle and high schools.
